Zero Point Workholding: 5th Axis RockLock Compatible Plates & Pull Studs

Zero point workholding lets you swap vises, fixtures, and pallets in seconds and land on the same location every time, with no re-indicating. This collection covers the zero point clamping system hardware we build and stock for 4th and 5th axis CNC machines.

AxisLock™ zero point plate. Our own rotary zero point system. One through-bore plate carries both the 96mm and 52mm pull stud patterns, so it accepts 5th Axis® RockLock compatible vises and fixtures. The through bore leaves room to route air for pneumatic vises and automation.

5th Axis® pull studs and accessories. As an authorized 5th Axis dealer, we stock genuine RockLock pull studs, including the PS20F 96mm stud, so you can add vises, fixture plates, and pallets to the system you already run.

Zero Point Workholding FAQs

Zero point workholding is a quick-change clamping system. Pull studs bolted to the bottom of a vise, fixture plate, or pallet drop into a receiver plate on the machine, which locks them down and locates them in the same position every time. You swap setups in seconds without re-indicating, which is why it is also called a zero point clamping system.

Yes. The AxisLock™ zero point plate is built to be compatible with the 5th Axis® RockLock system. It carries both the 96mm and 52mm pull stud patterns, so RockLock compatible vises and fixtures mount to it.

The number is the center-to-center spacing of the pull studs. 52mm is the compact pattern for small vises and fixtures on smaller rotaries and trunnions. 96mm is the larger pattern for bigger vises, fixture plates, and heavier cuts. AxisLock™ has both patterns on one plate.

For the 96mm pattern, use the 5th Axis® PS20F 96mm pull stud. A standard 96mm setup uses four studs per vise, fixture, or pallet, and the PS20F is sold individually.

Yes. AxisLock™ is a rotary zero point plate made for 4th and 5th axis workholding on rotary platters and trunnions. Its through bore lets air lines pass through the center to an AxisAir™ Rotary Union for pneumatic vises and automation.
