Shipping & Delivery Policy (United Kingdom)

1. Delivery Times

We aim to dispatch orders promptly. Our goods ship from California, United States. Unless otherwise agreed, we will ship goods within 10 business days from the date the contract is formed, in accordance with UK Consumer Contracts Regulations. However, unexpected delays may occur due to shipping issues related to weather or other unforeseen events, customs delays, and other imports-related issues.

Where delivery will take longer (for example for custom or made-to-order items), we will clearly state the expected time at checkout and on your order confirmation.

We do our best to ensure prompt delivery of all orders and will communicate clearly with you should unavoidable delays occur.

2. Delivery Charges

Shipping costs and any applicable handling fees will be displayed clearly at checkout before you complete your purchase. These charges are included in the total price you agree to pay.

3. Customs Duties & Tariffs

As our goods ship from the United States, orders delivered to the United Kingdom may be subject to import duties, customs fees, VAT, and other applicable tariffs imposed by UK authorities upon entry. It is the express responsibility of the Customer to pay all such customs duties, import taxes, and tariffs. Gimbel Automation has no control over these charges and cannot predict their amount. We strongly recommend that customers contact their local customs office for further information before placing an order. Failure to pay applicable duties and tariffs may result in your shipment being held, returned, or destroyed by customs authorities, for which Gimbel Automation accepts no liability.

4. Shipping Methods

We use reputable carriers and will provide tracking information where available. You can choose from the delivery options offered at checkout.

5. Returns, Cancellations & RMA Process

Under UK law you have the right to cancel your online order for any reason within 14 days of receiving your goods (the cooling-off period), unless your order is for customised or bespoke items. To exercise this right, you must notify us in writing within 14 days of receipt by emailing sales@gimbelautomation.com.

To initiate any return, it is the Customer's responsibility to contact us at sales@gimbelautomation.com to obtain a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) before sending any goods back. We will not accept returns that arrive without a prior RMA. Once an RMA is issued, the Company will:

  • Receive and inspect the returned merchandise
  • Finalize refund approval or denial
  • Issue refund amount to customer where approved

Returned items must be in working condition (free from heavy scratches, dents, or signs of abuse) and in original packaging. Items that do not meet this condition may be rejected for a refund, in which case the Company will ship the merchandise back at the Customer's expense.

We will refund the cost of goods and standard delivery charges within 14 days of receiving the returned goods or evidence of return, whichever is sooner, in line with UK Consumer Contracts Regulations. Return postage costs may be your responsibility unless otherwise stated.

Although incredibly rare, the Company retains the right to subject returns or warranty replacements to a 20% restocking fee outside of the statutory 14-day cooling-off period. This restocking fee is generally only applied in very specific scenarios, such as severely damaged product for which we have decided to accept a return.

6. Warranty

Gimbel Automation offers a 30-day limited warranty on all Stocked Products against manufacturer defects only. A "Stocked Product" is defined as any Gimbel Automation product listed in-stock on GimbelAutomation.com that is not in Beta Testing and has a retail value below $2,500 per item. In the event of a defective product, please contact us at sales@gimbelautomation.com to initiate the warranty process. Please note that UK consumers may have additional statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 that exist independently of and in addition to our limited warranty. Full warranty terms are available on our Terms & Conditions page.

7. Custom & Bespoke Orders

Custom, bespoke, and turnkey orders (including engineered solutions) are not eligible for cancellation or returns once production has begun, or as specified at the time of sale. These orders fall outside the standard 14-day cooling-off period under UK Consumer Contracts Regulations as they are made to the Customer's specification. Full terms governing custom and turnkey orders are set out in our Terms & Conditions.

8. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions, including this Shipping & Delivery Policy, are governed and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, United States. Nothing in this section affects any statutory rights you may have as a consumer under UK law that cannot be excluded or limited by contract.
